These nets are designed to catch Gizzard Shad for trotline bait. Standard lengths are 50β², 75β², and 100β². They are made with #6 (.40mm) monofilament netting and the most popular nets are 6β² deep in 1-3/4β³ or 2β³ square mesh. Other depths, lengths, netting sizes, and mesh sizes are available.
Standard nets are sinking style with 3/8β³ float rope and size #30 lead core rope.
Floating nets come with ΒΌβ³ top rope and FL-113 float every 6β², and size #20 lead core rope.
The most popular net is floating style, 6β² deep, 50β² long, with 1-3/4β³ mesh which catches shad about 8β³ and longer. Check with your local wildlife agent about what is legal in your area.
